Download – The Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band

October 1, 2010 in Uncategorized

The first of a series of articles where we introduce you to some blues and roots stars and you can sample their music for free.

The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band whip up a skittering shuffling blues storm on their latest release, The Wages. The Reverend himself applies a mean slide to an old resonator and growls out the lyrics, alongside his wife Breezy on washboard and vocals, backed by Aaron “Cuz” Persinger rattling along on drums and bucket. The Rev is an honest to goodness Kentucky Colonel (alongside such luminaries as Elvis Presley, Roy Rogers and.. er.. Tiger Woods) and his band has a huge sound for one so small. They're bringing their gutbucket stomp to the UK and Europe this autumn and by the sound of the terrific song they sent us for download, they're big big fun on a night out. Check 'em out.

  1. I had the pleasure of supporting the Rev and the band at the Arlington Arts Centre. Those guys really kick up a storm. I defy anyone to stay seated when they are playing.
They are touring constantly, see them next time they are over here. Check out their latest album The Wages?
    Cheers
