Issue 188 – Aug 17

July 30, 2017 in Editorial

As this month there are more artists are over here and on tour we chat to Eric Bibb, but couldn’t make contact with Lucky Peterson in Dallas, so Steve Morphew has written up a few notes to fill you in on what to expect. We mentioned last month in our news section that Clare Free was returning to the live music scene and this month she re-introduces herself. Also introducing themselves we have The Goat Roper Rodeo Band and we chat to constantly touring UK based artists Mike Ross and The Sharpeez.
What will Brexit mean to the Blues? – We talked to Davide Grandi, President of The European Blues Union. It’s good to know that the Carlisle Blues Festival is back after a rest and we hear from organiser Nick Westgarth about what’s been going on and this year’s festival.

As usual there are your reviews of gigs and festivals as well as a batch of new releases on CD. For those listening to their blues at home the Radio Guide starts on page 42. There are still plenty of Festivals going on and we have them all listed in the guide along with the usual monthly gigs

Enjoy the read and get out and see some live music, until next month – Enjoy Yer Blues!
