Issue 200 – August 2018

July 31, 2018 in Editorial, Uncategorized

In this month’s issue we talk to Mark Harrison and we have three artists introducing themselves: The Achievers, The Milk Men and Tony Palumbo. As always there are reviews and our guides to gigs, festivals and IBBA radio shows. We also have a chuckle on the humour page. It’s interesting to note that artists in the US are finding it as hard as UK ones to make a living from the current music scene. Doña Oxford shares her thoughts while John In Houston gives some PR advice this month.

On the up we have a new venue opening in November, making use of facilities at a County Cricket ground! A familiar voice presenting a new radio show playing blues and Kris Barras has opened the 'youth box', attracting a new demographic to his shows.

It says Issue 200 on the cover but actually this is issue number 374 going back to the first edition of BluePrint in June 1988. The name changed in January 2002 to Blues In Britain.

Until next month, get out and see some live music and enjoy yer blues.
