Issue 211 – July 2019

July 1, 2019 in Editorial, Uncategorized

This month we turn our attention to Europe with Boogie Woogie pianist Daniel Smith, now living in Spain but continuing his links with the UK in a variety of ways and we catch up with Catfish who have recently been busy touring most parts of Europe and are due back there shortly.
We report on a new record label, which will no doubt bring us some exciting blues artists and music in its future catalogue.

It’s the festival time of year and our guide is packed with events, but at the same time some clubs and venues take a break for the summer, so the gig guide slims down a little. A new name to us, but it seems he’s been in the music business for some time, is Tone Tanner who introduces himself in more detail on Page 44 and we find out about the Mojo Preachers and their new album which is due to be launched this month.

As usual we have our reviews of gigs, festivals and new releases. If you’re staying in and listening to the radio for your blues then check out the Radio Guide on Page 42.

Enjoy the read and get out and see some live music, until next month – Enjoy Yer Blues!
