Issue 234 – June 2021

May 29, 2021 in Editorial, Uncategorized

We report on the U.K. Blues Awards and news of the U.S. Blues Foundation’s Blues Music Awards on June 6th. Amongst the nominees, across twenty five categories is Curtis Salgado, who features in this very issue. Up for Best Emerging Artist is ‘King’ Solomon Hicks. Provogue/Mascot released his wonderful second album Harlem in 2020 and it’s helped Hicks consolidate his reputation as
an emerging talent of note, often dubbed ‘Lil B.B.King’ during his formative years.
Two of the BIB Editorial team had the pleasure of discovering Hicks as a seventeen year old, playing at the Terra Blues club in New York, in October 2015.

Go Well.
