Issue 178 – October 2016

October 1, 2016 in Editorial

We were especially proud to be able to sponsor The Barry Middleton Memorial Award for Emerging Artist of the Year at the British Blues Awards. This month we chat to runners up The Della Grants and to Alan Nimmo as King King go back on the road in support of their new Live album release. Red Butler’s long awaited second album will be available this month, so we talk to them and to Little Stevie about the forthcoming Blues Cruise Revue. We think Ruby & The Revelators are one to watch and they are busy getting an album ready for next year, so we find out who and what they are all about. The Bad Pennies and Northbound both introduce themselves in their own words.
Festival reviews continue to come in thick and fast, as are the new albums and we review as many as we can along with your gigs. See what’s happening in your area with the Gig and Festivals Guides but if you’re staying in and listening to the radio for your blues then check out the Radio Guide on Page 42 – it’s even bigger this month.
Enjoy the read and get out and see some live music, until next month – Enjoy Yer Blues!
